Black Heart

My christian name is David. I grew up on a farm in Fayetteville North Carolina.  As a farm boy the work was hard and the days were long.  When I wasn't working I was always reading stories about adventure and pirates.  I came upon a quatation from Bartholamew Roberts " in honest service this is thin commons, low wages, and hard labor. In this ( a life of piracy) plenty and satiety, pleasure and ease, liberty and power....No, a merry life and short one shll be my motto".

So I soon decided to run away to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where pirates were known to live and gather.  Being willing, young, and strong it did not take long to find a crew to join and start my pirating career.

After several years I got word that my Mother was ill, so I returned to the farm to see her.  but on seeing me she had no good words to say, telling me only " that I had a blackheart and I would hang for being a pirate".

So I left, returning to my friends and the pirate life I love, only changing my name to BlackHeart....
